Hamilton offers a variety of things to do to keep young people busy. From school programs, to clubs and service organizations, these activities are designed to educate and stimulate the youth in our community. Many of these organizations provide educational, fitness and recreational programs for the entire family.
Hamilton prides itself on the beauty of our parks. With over 60 acres of city park land including lighted ball fields, walking trails, play ground equipment, two large pavilions, picnic areas and a municipal swimming pool. Fair Park is equipped with a senior high baseball field, rodeo arena and livestock barns. The Jayson Harris Pavilion, located at Fair Park, is an 11,000-square-foot all purpose building used for the annual 4-H livestock show and other activities. It is also available for private gatherings. Fishing, boating and other water sports are available at City Lake, Cowhouse Creek, Leon River and nearby Lake Proctor.
We have a multi-use sports complex that was completed in 2006. The million dollar project was supported through a grant of the Texas Parks and Wildlife and contributions.
