Texas Wine Lover® was founded early in 2011 by Jeff Cope to help promote Texas wine. Jeff and Gloria Schlanser first started visiting many Texas wineries in January 2010 and felt their experiences could benefit both consumers and producers. The blog began by describing their experiences at each winery, but quickly moved into providing news about the Texas wine industry too. Along the way, news about non-Texas wine, product reviews, and more were added, because after all, one does not only drink Texas wine.
The Texas Wine Lover blog has been featured in the Houston Press and articles have appeared in other blogs such as Texas Wine and Trail Magazine and Wine Compass.
The goal also at Texas Wine Lover is to provide the latest up-to-date listings of wineries including a winery map with their locations to help you plan your visits. The winery listingsare always being checked, but sometimes a new winery escapes our sight, so please let us know if there is a winery currently open or opening which is not listed.
To make Texas wine, you need both the combination of great grapes and great wineries, so also only here is an attempt at a complete list of Texas Vineyards regardless of their affiliation. Again, if there is a vineyard which is not listed, even if it may only be an acre, please let us know and it will be added.
After 3½ years of being a success, it was determined in order to take Texas Wine Lover to the next level, the task was too much for Jeff and Gloria, so it was time to make a decision. The decision was easy as the right dedicated Texas wine lovers came into the picture, and there is now a team at Texas Wine Lover® providing coverage around the state of Texas. Be sure to meet our team!
